In O Dynasty of China, there was a noted doctor called Dongbong. He did not receive medical expenses from the patients, instead, asked them to plant apricot trees in the hill at the back of his home. Years later, the hill at the back of Dongbong’s house formed a big forest of apricot trees. Dongbong sold the apricots, bought grains and he shared the grains to people. From then on, people began to call the doctor’s name, doctor's family, and medical community as Haenglim. In 1923, Mr. Taeho, Lee established Haenglimseowon to keep and follow Dongbong’s good will, and until then its meaning has become the corporate philosophy of Haenglim.
